A simple phrase. A series of words. A mission.
As educators, we spend our entire careers crafting our educational practice. Seeking to design an educational experience that fosters student engagement toward academic success. We empower future citizens and inspire future leaders to reach for the stars and believe in the impossible. To showcase vigilance, perseverance, and pride in pursuit of their dreams. We are the courage that drives innovation and curiosity. We are the passion that ignites intrigue and aspiration. We are modern educators and we are crafting the modern classroom.
In pursuit of the modern classroom, one must develop a vision which personifies the essence of strategic change. One which embodies your principles, your morals as a modern educator. My vision came to me as I was preparing for my very first classroom experience. I found myself searching for a simple phrase, a series of words, a mission. Before long, I began to craft my vision that would resonate throughout my educational career. A creed that would forever define my purpose as a modern educator. A promise to my students that this will not be a classroom or limitation, but rather of boundless opportunity.
With a philosophical understanding of my educational practice, it was now time to build my modern classroom. How would I craft this unique environment? Which modern tools would I use to enhance student learning? How would I enhance my own learning and implementation of my desired changes? It soon became apparent that my growing list of inquiries seemed to spawn from one particular question. That is, why do I need to change?
